The Firm
Lexkara & Co is a legal consultancy operating on a chambers-style model: lean, senior, and directly accessible. The firm was founded by Kenneth Awoonor-Renner to address a structural gap in the UK legal market — the absence of a credible alternative between the overhead-laden Magic Circle model and the limitations of conventional high-street practice. Lexkara & Co exists for clients who demand Magic Circle-calibre analysis but value the agility, responsiveness, and direct partner engagement that only a specialist adviser can provide.
The firm provides strategic legal support to executives, boards, companies, and investors across the full spectrum of corporate and commercial law. Unlike traditional solicitors' firms, Lexkara & Co does not operate with layers of associates and trainees. Kenneth is personally and directly available on every matter — from the initial strategy call to the final negotiation. There is no junior hand-off, and there is no waiting list.
This model reflects a conviction that the most valuable thing a legal adviser can offer is not volume capacity but judgment — the judgment that comes from twenty-one years of practice across corporate transactions, commercial disputes, insolvency, regulatory matters, and cross-border work. Kenneth Awoonor-Renner is the founding principal of Lexkara & Co and a barrister called to the Bar at the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in 2005. With over twenty-one years of practice spanning corporate law, commercial litigation, insolvency, cross-border transactions, banking and finance, and regulatory matters, he brings a rare breadth and depth of expertise to every engagement.
Kenneth's career has encompassed advisory roles for FTSE-listed companies, sovereign wealth funds, private equity sponsors, senior executives, and boards across multiple jurisdictions. He has advised on transactions ranging from mid-market acquisitions and disposals to complex multi-jurisdictional restructurings, and has acted in disputes before the English Commercial Court, the Business and Property Courts, the LCIA, and the ICC.
Before entering the legal profession, Kenneth trained as a Chartered Engineer, holding a BEng (Hons) in Mechatronics from King's College London and registration with the Engineering Council UK. This technical foundation gives him a distinctive capability in advising technology companies, telecoms operators, and digital infrastructure businesses — sectors where many lawyers lack the technical fluency to fully understand their clients' businesses.
Kenneth holds an LLM in Venture Capital Law from the University of Westminster (Merit, 2004), an MA in Law from the University of Huddersfield, and an MBA from the University of Oxford. He has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators since 2005, and is recognised in the Legal 500 for his work in corporate and commercial law.
His practice today is focused on providing senior-level, direct-access legal counsel to clients who require immediate, substantive legal advice without the overhead, delays, and delegation structures that characterise larger firms. Kenneth's clients value his ability to combine rigorous legal analysis with practical commercial judgment — an ability honed across more than two decades of advising businesses at every stage of their lifecycle, from incorporation to IPO, from distress to exit.

Professional Standing
Lexkara & Co is a legal consultancy. The firm is not authorised or regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) or the Bar Standards Board (BSB). Kenneth Awoonor-Renner is a barrister called to the Bar of England and Wales at the Inner Temple in 2005, and he provides legal services through Lexkara & Co in his capacity as a legal consultant.
The firm provides non-reserved legal advice and legal strategy. This encompasses the full range of advisory legal work — including corporate advice, commercial negotiations, regulatory guidance, and strategic counsel — that does not constitute "reserved legal activities" as defined by the Legal Services Act 2007. Reserved legal activities (such as the conduct of litigation, rights of audience in court, and the administration of oaths) are, where required, carried out by panel solicitors and barristers who hold their own authorisation and are regulated by the SRA or BSB respectively.
Lexkara & Co does not hold client funds. All client monies related to transactions or disputes are held by regulated third parties in accordance with their own professional obligations.
This regulatory model is an intentional design choice. It allows Lexkara & Co to deliver senior-level legal counsel with the flexibility, efficiency, and direct-access model that clients value — without the structural constraints and cost overheads of traditional regulated law firm structures.
